SWAN VALLEY BOSNIAN MOSQUE - CAVERSHAM

2011 - Present

The Bosnian Islamic Society of WA, (BIS) commissioned Archetype Design Studio in 2007 to design a Mosque and Islamic Cultural centre for the Bosnian Islamic Community located in the Swan Valley. The Complex, comprises of a prayer hall for 350 people, ablutions, library, multifunction hall including kitchen, administrative office, Imam’s residence, short stay accomodation for 3 families and associated car parking and landscaped courtyards. Its construction value is estimated at approximately 6 Million. Design of this facility necessitated knowledge of Islamic Religion and traditions, as well as the religious nuance of the Bosnian peoples.
